Explorations Central
Holland America Line, 2017

'Second Story worked with Holland America Line, a leader in the premium cruise industry, to create Explorations Central (EXC), an interactive space that celebrates the power of travel to enrich our lives. Onboard experiences orient and educate, piquing curiosity and inspiring adventure. Interactive maps help guests dream bigger as they work with the ship’s knowledgeable crew to customize their time onshore.

Guests can also discover the tastes, traditions, and events that have shaped the destinations on their itinerary, share highlights from their own world travels, and learn more about the ship they’re traveling on. We piloted Explorations Central on the msWesterdam—and it was a rousing success. By 2019, the entire Holland America Line fleet will have EXCs of their own.' Second Story

Photographic Interpretive Gallery
SFMOMA, 2016

'How do you create a single space that serves two distinct groups of museum goers: those hungry for more insight and those looking to take a break? For SFMOMA’s grand reopening, we designed a new space that seamlessly blends cafe and art gallery, digital and physical.

Interactive installations let visitors explore how photography shapes our perceptions of the world. Visitors engage using custom analog controls inspired by 35mm film camera dials. From the materials and finishes, to the centralized seating and quiet integration of media, the gallery lets visitors flow through, socialize, dive deep into the museum collection, and relax and sip their lattes with equal ease.'  Second Story

Times Square Takeover
Vornado Realty Trust, 2014

'Standing nine stories tall and spanning an entire city block, the 4K screen above the Times Square Marriott Marquis was officially the world’s largest. But rather than just flipping a switch to bring it online, owner Vornado Realty Trust wanted to introduce the crown jewel of their outdoor advertising portfolio in jaw-dropping fashion. Eight weeks later, it was up to us to show everyone what 24 million pixels can do.

Second Story collaborated with Universal Everything to create an epic launch that showcased the screen’s size, resolution, and capacity for interactivity for prospective media buyers and more than 400,000 daily passersby. Featured everywhere from The New York Times to the BBC to the Today Show, the screen's launch racked up 530 million media impressions in the first 48 hours.'  Second Story
